Obituary of George Duncan

POUGHKEEPSIE - George P. Duncan, 79, a resident all of his life of Poughkeepsie, died May 9, 2009, at Vassar Brothers Hospital. He owned and operated Pleasant Valley Cleaners, also worked for H.O Penn Co., LaGrange, NY, as Parts Mgr., retired 16 years, a past member of Arlington Engine #1, also a Paramedic, attended Poughkeepsie Schools, loved to spend time in the Adirondack Mountains and Saranac Lake Region. Born November 30, 1929, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of George and Helen Duncan. On September 25, 1949, at St. Paul's Church, Poughkeepsie, he married Virginia Rozell, who survives at home. Survivors include, wife, Virginia at home, daughters, Cheryl Nelson of Wappingers Falls, NY; Judy and, husband, Richard Swartout of Jacksonville, FL; Janet and, husband, Kevin Consiglio of Poughkeepsie, NY; Linda and, husband, Larry Ledoux of Wallkill, NY; Jill and, husband, Eric Burfeindt of Millbrook, NY; sons, Keith and, wife, Laurie Duncan of Pleasant Valley, NY; Bruce Duncan of Pleasant Valley, NY; Wayne Duncan of Oregon; Kevin Duncan of Yonkers, NY; grandchildren, Crystal Duncan, Andrew Duncan, Tara Swartout, Erin Swartout, Brandon Duncan, Lindsay Consiglio, Adam Consiglio, Tyler Duncan, Justin Ledoux, Ryan Ledoux, Cassidy Ledoux, Erika Burfeindt, Faith Burfeindt. He was predeceased by sonin-law, Ken Nelson. There are no calling hours. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 7:00pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY, with Rev. Tyler Jones, of St. Paul's Church of Poughkeepsie, officiating.
