Obituary of Paul Genco

Paul C. Genco, a 14-year resident of Cold Spring, NY, formerly of Wappingers Falls, NY, died January 9, 2010 at Hudson Valley Hospital. He was 65 years old. Mr. Genco was employed as the manager of Dick's Sporting Goods, Middletown, NY. He was a member of the Cornwall Yacht Club, the U.S. Power Squadron and the Mountaineers Rod and Gun Club. He loved to be around his family and grandchildren. He loved to cook, hunt, fish, and boating. Those who knew Paul knew that he was very casual and would always lend a helping hand to anyone who needed help. Born in Bronx, NY, on January 9, 1945, he was the son of Joseph and Josephine Polizzi Genco. He attended schools in the Bronx. On December 29, 1996 he married Vingie Merritt in the Town of Phillipstown. Mrs. Genco survives at home. In addition to his wife, survivors include his sons, Paul C. Genco of Arizona; Michael A. Genco of Long Island, NY; Scott J. Genco and his wife, Teresa, of Poughkeepsie; Brian R. Genco of Las Vegas, NV; and Thomas Genco and his wife, Tammie, of SC; step-daughter, Sandi E. Merritt of Cold Spring; grandchildren, Emily and Nicholas Genco and Jackson Genco; sister, Frances Vaccaro of Bronx, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 from 4 pm - 8 pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home following visitation. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
