Obituary of Helen G. Goldstein

Helen G. Goldstein, 83, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. A lifetime area resident, she was a employed as the Walt Disney Art Director for Western Printing, she was a Supervisor in the Art Department and a 38 year employee, retiring in 1983. She loved cooking, gardening, bird watching and working she ceramics. She also loved to oil paint and going to the beach. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, the Western Printing Retirees Club, where she served as Treasurer, a member of the AARP of Hyde Park and the Vassar Institute. Born in Poughkeepsie on Nov. 30, 1926, she was the daughter of Thomas G. and Jennie Bracco Bocchino. She was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. On April 12, 1953 during the High Mass of Holy Matrimony at Holy Trinity Church, officiated by Monsignor Leo Gregg, she married Ronald M. Goldstein. Her husband survives at home in Poughkeepsie. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister and brother in law, Emma and Adam Nowik of Hyde Park; her sister, Yolanda Grebos of Linwood, NJ; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed and remembered by her special nephew and nieces she thought of as her own, Adam Nowik, Jr. and his wife, Beth; Janice Walz and her husband, Carl; Adela Ronsani and her husband, Angelo and Barbara Rotella. She is also survived by her special great niece and nephew, Rachael and Anthony Ronsani. She was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Bocchino and a sister, Louise Beneway. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 9:45 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Avenue, Poughkeepsie. Memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA of Dutchess County, Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538.
