Obituary of Eugene Green

Eugene E. Green, Jr., "Mean Gene" age 59 of Amenia, NY, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on March 22, 1952, he was the son of Eugene E. Green, Sr., and Barbara Minor Green. A lifelong resident, Mr. Green graduated from Roosevelt High School and attend SUNY New Paltz. He had worked in construction and as a pool installer. Mr. Green is survived by his sons Silva Green of Houston, TX, John Johnson of Amenia, NY and Gabriel Swartz of Texas, and his daughter Marissa Green of Amenia, and 8 grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by sisters Linda Watson of New Castle, Delaware and Regenia Duncan of Poughkeepsie. Also surviving is his niece Shakima Johnson. Additionally, he is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a son, Cortney Swartz and his companion Mary Swartz. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A service will be held at 7:30pm during visitation. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society .
