Obituary of Richard Grieger

Richard A. Grieger, 75, of the Town of Poughkeepsie died Saturday June 26, 2010 at home. Born in Bronx, NY he was the son of Paul and Elizabeth Molnar Grieger. Richard attended schools in Hudson, NY and was a Graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Port. On December 26, 1959, Richard married Mary M. McCourt at St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie. Richard was an Engineer at IBM Poughkeepsie retiring in 1992. He was a fifty year local resident previously of the Bronx and Claverack, NY. Richard was a member of St. Peters Parish, loved to bird watch and enjoyed all sporting events. Richard loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife at home, son; Robert Christopher Grieger of Hyde Park NY, son and daughter in law James Richard and Gail Grieger of Groton, NY, two daughters and their husbands; Jeanne Marie and Patrick Maresca of Clinton Corners, NY and Catherine E. and Raymond Gallinger of Salt Point, NY, as well as his grandchildren; Stephanie, Heidi, Meagan, Carrie and Michael Grieger, Christopher Tyler and Matthew Maresca and Cory and Kaylin Gallinger. Richard is also survived by his brother Paul J. Grieger, Claverack, NY. Calling Hours will be held Tuesday June 29th, 2010 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday June 30, 2010 10am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church of St. Peters Parish; Father James A. Garisto will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Peter's Church, Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538.
