Obituary of Irene Hermanny

Irene Hermanny, 85, of Poughkeepsie, died April 26, 2009 at Lutheran Care Center. She had been retired for 30 years, and previously employed at the Culinary Institute of America in the Admissions Office. A local resident for most of her life, she also resided in Westchester County. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie. Mrs. Hermanny enjoyed listening to music and CDs. Born in Germany on Apr. 13, 1924, she was the daughter of Edward and Alfreda Kaipf. She attended Walton High School in New York City. In Bronx, NY in 1947, she married William R. Hermanny. He predeceased her on Feb. 26, 2003. She is survived by her son, Glenn Hermanny, Town of Poughkeepsie. She was predeceased by her son, Andrew. A memorial service will beheld Friday, May 1, 2009 at 12pm at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. Daniel Ward officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
