Obituary of Virginia Hershey

Virginia Bomba Hershey, age 86, Poughkeepsie died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Lutheran Care Center, Poughkeepsie. Virginia was born March 29, 1924 in Poughkeepsie, NY the daughter of the late John and the late Lillian (Holt) Corey. In 1941 at the Hudson River Chapel she married William Charles Bomba Sr. he predeceased her March of 1992. Virginia was on the Board of Directors for the IBM Country Club. While involved with the country club she helped raise money for the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. She was a local resident all of her life and she attended Hyde Park School. She was employed by IBM in Poughkeepsie in the Products Publication Division as an Associate Editor. She is survived by her Son And Daughter In-law, William And Betty Bomba of Poughkeepsie, NY; one son and her companion Robert J. Bomba and Kathy Howard of Keeseville, NY, Son and Daughter In-law, John And Mary Ellen Bomba of Poughkeepsie, NY, Daughter And Son In-law, Linda And John Brady of Poughkeepsie, NY and her Brother Donald Corey of Hyde Park. Her Grandchildren also survive her and they are, Tracy and Scott Mohrmann, Corrine and Lance Former, Virginia and Tom Ashline, John and Kimberly Brady, Catherine and Matthew Soentgen and Six Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie New York. from 1pm to 4pm with the Funeral Service at 3:00pm.
