Obituary of Celia Janendo

Celia Addalade " Nanny" Janendo, 86, of Town of Poughkeepsie, died September 26, 2008 at River Valley Care Center. She had been a homemaker. A local resident since 1945, she had previously resided in Lincoln, NE. She loved to bowl, babysit and crochet. Born September 9, 1922 in Lincoln, NE, she was the daughter of James Orville Mayfield and Edna Pickerman. She attended schools in Nebraska. On May 1, 1943, in Nebraska, she was married to John Janendo, who predeceased her on June 6, 1966. Survivors include Daughter And Son In-law, Celia And George Foster, Poughkeepsie, NY; Son, John O. Janendo Jr., Poughkeepsie, NY; Sister, Bobbie Hoff, Omaha, NE; Sister, Beverley Davison, IA; Granddaughter, Deborah Fairbairn; Granddaughter, Samantha Whalen; Grandson, John O. Janendo III; Grandson, John Fairbairn Jr.; and several Greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by a Brother, Charlie Huffer.
