Obituary of Wan-byung Kim

Wan-Byung Kim, 85, a local Fishkill resident of 25 years, formerly of Brooklyn and Korea, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at Wingate At Beacon. Wan-Byung owned a store in Brooklyn, NY, a member of New Covenant Church, Hopewell Junction, NY, he attended Junior College in Korea. Born January 10, 1923, in Jeju, he was the son of Doo-Hyun Kim and Hae-Hyun Kim. In 1994, in Jeju, Korea, he married Soo Jung Yoo, who survives at home. Survivors include daughter and son in-law; Kay and Dr. Kevin Lieu of Fishkill; son and daughter in-law, Brian and Catherine Kim of Flushing Queens; daughter, Hae Sook Park of Queens; son and daughter in-law, Douglas and Sue Kyung Kim of Seoul Korea; seven grandchildren and one great grandson. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2008 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Monday January 5, 2009 at New Covenant Church, Hopewell Junction NY, with Senior Pastor Euk Kang officiating. Burial will be at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
