Obituary of Peter Lillo

Peter J. Lillo, Jr., 66, a 40 year resident of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on June 17, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He had previously been employed as a Programmer and Electrical Engineer at IBM in East Fishkill, and was also the previous owner of Valley Fitness in Pleasant Valley and a personal trainer. He was a member of the Northern Dutchess Rod and Gun Club, a Sgt. 4th Class in the Army, having served his tour in Germany during the Vietnam War, as well as an avid hunter, fisherman, motorcyclist and a sporting clay trapper at Orvis in Millbrook, NY. He was born in Patterson, NJ on November 19, 1943, the son of Peter J. Lillo and Angela Marie (Caltabiano) Lillo. He attended Central High School in Patterson, NJ, RCA Institute of Technology in NYC and Union College. On August 8, 1971 he married Rosemary McCleery in Beacon, NY. His wife survives at home in Poughkeepsie. He is also survived by his mother, Angela Marie Lillo, Patterson, NJ, his sister and brother in law, Jo-Ann and Donald Tierney, Short Hills, NJ, his sister and brother in law, Judy and Matt Mustachio, Rockaway Township, NY, his brother in law and sister in law, James and Charlotte McCleery, New Hope, PA nieces and nephews, Justin Tierney, Michael and Marc Mustachio, Melinda Lederman, Sean McCleery, Jessica Bistline, Sarah McCleery and Samantha Paschal. Peter was predeceased by his beloved pet Pepper. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 4 to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 23, 2010 at 11am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, St. Peters Parish, with Father James A. Garisto officiating. Burial will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Ave., 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851 or to MSPCA-Angell, Attn: Donations, 350 S. Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
