Obituary of Fred MacIsaac

Fred J. MacIsaac, 72, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008 at Ferncliff Nursing Home. Mr. MacIsaac was a Motor Vehicle Operator for the Town of Poughkeepsie Highway Department, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1302 and St. Martin dePorres Church. Mr. MacIsaac served in the Unites States Army 82nd Airbourne. Born Jan. 8, 1936 in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of John A. and Mary Ellen Burke MacIsaac. He was an Arlington High School graduate. Survivors include his children, Barbara, Christine, Lisa, Fred, Mark and Darren MacIsaac; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marty and Eleanor MacIsaac of Poughkeepsie; Edward and Bernice MacIsaac of Poughkeepsie; sister and brothers-in-law, Margaret McAmblay of Poughkeepsie; Shirley Klein of Poughkeepsie; Hazel and Elting Raquet of Poughkeepsie; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers, Daniel, Angus, Harold, Duncan and Francis; and a sister, Mary Ellen Schade. Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 18, at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 19, at St. Martin dePorres Church, Poughkeepsie. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point, Poughkeepsie.
