Obituary of Dorothy Maucher

Dorothy A. Maucher, 84, a local Town of Poughkeepsie resident of 18 years, formerly of Medford, NJ, died Sunday, January, 25, 2009, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was an Office Manager, a member of the Red Hats Club, United Methodist Church of Pleasant Valley and an avid sports fan and loved to knit. Born April 18, 1924, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Robert W. and Anna G. Smyth Jackel. In 1943, in Philadelphia, PA, she married John G. Maucher, who predeceased her on January 2, 1990. Survivors include son and daughterin-law, John G. and Rose Mary Maucher of Colonia, NJ; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and JoAnn Maucher of Pleasant Valley; grandchildren, Jeanette L., Robet W., Jacqueline A., Denise Blevins and Dawn Cecile; sister, June Macauley; several nieces and nephews; several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm, on February 21, 2009 at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, Martin Road. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
