Obituary of Dorothy Miller

Dorothy J. Miller, 80, a long time Poughkeepsie resident, died peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at the Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. Born in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Emma Brenner Juan of Poughkeepsie. While raising her family, she worked for the Arlington School District and Dutchess Community College. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Poughkeepsie. Dorothy is survived by two sons and their wives, Chuck and Laurie Miller Jr. of Poughkeepsie and Robert and Donna Miller of Poughkeepsie; two grandchildren, Chuck Miller III and his wife, Stephanie and Bruce Miller and his companion, Beth Hout both of Pleasant Valley; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Dawn Miller; stepgrandson, James Bocchino and stepgreat-grandson, James Anthony Bocchino Jr.; her brother and his wife, Tony and Janet Juan of Poughkeepsie; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 9 to 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A service will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the family plot at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
