Obituary of Francis Miller

Francis R. Miller, 84, a lifelong area resident, died Monday, October 24, 2011, at home. Born March 13, 1927, in Verbank, NY, he was the son of Ernest R. and Blanche Rapelje Miller. He was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and served in the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps. He retired from the Arlington Central School District. On March 31, 1957, he married Joan Marie Steuer at the First Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie. She predeceased him on December 21, 2010. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Robin Moore of Lagrange; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Wendy Miller of Centennial, CO; four grandchildren, Ryan and Shannon Moore, and Christy and Kevin Miller; and a sister, Ginny Van Wagenen of Hyde Park. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
