Obituary of Beulah Napier

Beulah M. Napier, 72, a lifetime resident of Poughquag, died August 28, 2009 at home. Mrs. Napier was employed as a Personnel Administrator for New York State, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Poughquag and the United Methodist Church, Poughquag. Mrs. Napier loved to read, play bingo, and spend time with her grandchildren. Born in Chelsea, NY on October 26, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Vernice Rogers Brown. She graduated from Wappingers Central School in 1954 and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Mercy College. In Philadelphia, PA, she married John Napier. Mr. Napier predeceased her on February 25, 1992. Survivors include her son, James M. Napier and his wife, Katherine, of Buffalo Jct., VA; daughters, Gillian Robinson and her husband, Frank, of Poughquag and Jennifer Napier of Dutchess County; grandchildren, Jessica Napier Dominguez of Queens Creek, AR, Theresa Anne Napier of Norwalk, VA, John Joseph Robinson of Poughquag, and Jordan Clifford of Buffalo Jct., VA; brothers and sisters, Robert Brown, Roxanne Amen, Chris Brown, Roger Brown and Cynthia Lara; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Arthur Brown, Jr., who died in the Koran war and sisters, Margie Brown, Delores Kittle, and Shirley Light. Calling hours will be on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 from 2:00 pm - 4:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the American Breast Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
