Obituary of Frank A. Parsio

Frank A. Parsio, 87, of Poughkeepsie, died January 4, 2009 at River Valley Care Center. He had been a Quality Engineer, Data Systems Division at IBM, Poughkeepsie, retiring in 1983. A local resident since 1945, he previously resided in Maybrook, NY. Frank served in the US Navy from 1942-1945, during World War II. He served in the European African Middle Eastern Campaign and the American Campaign. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and of St. Martin De Porres Church. Frank left his family behind to be with his wife. He was heartbroken over the loss of his wife, Catherine, who predeceased him on Sept. 21, 2008. Frank and Catherine were married for 64 years. Born Mar. 20, 1921 in Maybrook, NY, he was the son of Vincenzio Parsio and Josephine Sparcotelli. He was a graduate of Maybrook schools. On May 30, 1945 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, he married Catherine C. Digilio. She predeceased him on Sept. 21, 2008. Survivors include daughter and sonin-law, Alissa and Stanley Perreault of Wappingers; son and daughter-inlaw, John "Jack" and Peggy Lee Parsio of Pleasant Valley; grandchildren, Nicole Stabile, Kristen Bielanos, Christine Perricelli, Anthony Parsio and Brittany Parsio; great grandchildren, Brian, Grace and Nicholas as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Rito and Lena Spillane and a brother, Louis Parsio. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009 from 8:30am to 9:30am at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Jan. 7, 2009 at 10:15am at St. Martin DePorres Church, Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Ave., Poughkeepsie. Memorial donations may be made to St. Martin DePorres Church, Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
