Obituary of Robert Raisch

Robert Carl Raisch, 71, of Poughkeepsie , passed away Friday, December 2, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center . Born in Poughkeepsie , NY on December 4, 1939 he was the son of the late Connie Raisch. A lifetime area resident of Poughkeepsie , Bob was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School . Bob worked for the John Lane Studio, under the mentorship of John Freni, his father in law, where Bob became an award winning portrait photographer. In 1975 he founded the John Lane Art Gallery, a nationally recognized and acclaimed gallery. He later created a fine art porcelain collectible line. After retiring, Bob was a founding member and director for the Arlington Business Improvement District. Bob leaves behind the love of his life, Vivian. They spent 47 amazing years together traveling the world and bringing love and laughter to all who met them. Bob was a loving father to son, Mark Raisch and his wife, Stacey of Clinton Corners, NY; daughter, Erica Canevari and her husband, Paul of Poughquag, NY. Bob leaves behind six grandchildren, Mathew, Luke, John, Joshua, Jordan and Eliza. Bob leaves behind his sister, Shirley Savio of Santa Barbara, CA. Many nieces and nephews will miss Bob greatly. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 pm, Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Poughkeepsie, NY, Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 7th at St. Stanislaus Church Pleasant Valley, NY. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
