Obituary of Frances W. Ramsey

Frances W. Ramsey, 73, of Town of Poughkeepsie went home to God on July 28, 2010, with her family by her side. She was born in Tullamore, Offaly, Ireland on February 2, 1937, the daughter of the late Francis and MaryAnn (Flanagan) Owens. She arrived in the United States in 1956 and on January 26, 1958 married William L. Ramsey at Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe, NY. She was retired from the service industry. "Frankie" was an avid reader, she loved Country-Western music, astrology, coin collecting, spending time with her family and celebrating her Irish heritage and traditions. Survivors include four daughters, Margaret Ramsey of the Town of Poughkeepsie, Elizabeth (Nick) Cuomo of the Town of Poughkeepsie, Charlotte Ramsey of Beacon and Maureen (Robert) Hilts of Wilmington, NC. Three sons include William (Kim) of Putnam Valley, Kevin of Yonkers, and Michael (Raecine) of Wilmington, NC. Her beloved brother William Owens of England, Thomas, Michael, Sean of Ireland, sisters Elizabeth Gilday of Port Chester, Helen Salada of CT, Nancy Fox and Joy Tighe of Ireland. Fourteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 pm, Friday, July 30, 2010 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603, 845452-0460. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010 at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590-1529 (845) 297-6261. Burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Evergreen Avenue, Poughkeepsie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org/hudsonvalley) of Dutchess County.
