Obituary of Willaim Ramsey

William L. Ramsey, Jr., age 75, of Spokane, Washington died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at home in Spokane. Mr. Ramsey was born October 17, 1935 in Port Chester, NY. He was the son of the late William and Margaret (Conway) Ramsey Sr. He had lived in Spokane for over 30 years and grew up in Dover Plains, NY. He served in the U. S. Navy, during the Korean War as a Medic. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was self employed as a Painter. He loved his cats, being outdoors and taking walks through the woods. On January 26, 1958 he married Frances W. Owens at Immaculate Conception Church h in Tuckahoe, NY. His wife predeceased him on July 28, 2010. He is survived by his four daughters, Margaret Ramsey of Poughkeepsie, Elizabeth (Nick) Cuomo of Poughkeepsie, Charlotte Ramsey of Beacon, NY and Maureen (Robert) Hilts of Wilmington, NC. Also his three sons, William (Kim) of Putnam Valley, Kevin of Yonkers, NY and Michael (Raecine) of Wilmington, NC., and fourteen grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-laws. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sister, Margie Banker. Calling hours will be held on Friday, 12/3/10, from 9:00 to 10:00am, at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Gerald B. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
