Obituary of Michael Reilly

Michael "Mike" Reilly, 51, of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Center in Newburgh, NY after a brief illness. The son of Betty Reilly and the late James Reilly, he was born on July 3, 1957. Mike graduated from Arlington High School in 1977 and was currently employed as a Mason at L.R. Builder in Poughkeepsie. On Oct. 16, 1999 at the Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie, he married Lisa Reese-Reilly, who survives at home. Mike was a member of the Mid Hudson Club for the Deaf and was an avid bowler. His proudest accomplishment was the 300 game he bowled in 2004. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie. He also attended the Hudson Valley Catholic Deaf Center. He was a member of the Crum Elbow Hunting Club and a Rusty Wallace Nascar fan. Mike leaves behind a saddened family and friends who will miss him dearly. A devoted and loving husband to his wife, Lisa, his mother, Betty Reilly of Amenia, his mother in law and aunt with whom he made his home, Florence and Blanche Reese. Among his family, Mike cherished his relationship with his brothers and sisters. He leaves behind his brothers, James and his wife, Sandra; Darren (DJ) and his wife, Judy; Darryll and his wife, Robin; Larry and his wife, Patricia and Robert. His sisters, Betsy Bathrick and her husband, Dave and Darlene Chesky, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Dwayne (Rip) and Garry. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Funeral services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Church, Main St., Poughkeepsie. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery.
