Obituary of Scott Schimmel

Scott P. Schimmel, 47, a lifetime resident of Hyde Park, NY, died November 25, 2009 at home. Mr. Schimmel was the owner of S&S Towing. He was formerly employed by the Anderson School as a mechanic and loved classic cars. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, on June 6, 1962, he was the son of Henry and Lorraine Pepel Schimmel. He attended Roosevelt High School. Survivors include his mother, Lorraine Schimmel-Rose of Hyde Park, NY; brother, James Schimmel and his wife, Brook, of Poughkeepsie, NY; sister, Heidi Cavaluzzi and her husband, Nat, of Hyde Park, NY; his fiance, Sandra E. Rider and her son, Ryan Howley; nieces and nephews, Alexandra, Skyler, and Lauren Schimmel and Matthew Cavaluzzi; step-sisters, Margaret Rose, Daria Osterhoudt, and Linda Hendricks; and step-nieces and stepnephews, Ryan, Austin, and Kaeligh VanVorrhees. He was predeceased by his father, Henry; brother, Robert; and step-father, Bernie Rose. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2009, 11:00 am, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY.
