Obituary of William Sigler

William E. Sigler, age 83, of West Melbourne Florida died Friday, October 1, 2010 Mr. Sigler was born April 20, 1927 at Poughkeepsie, NY the son of the late William L. and the late Irene (Mosher) Sigler. On February 10, 1952 in Poughkeepsie he married Mary Ostrander. She predeceased him September 18, 1994. Bill was a Poughkeepsie resident all of his life until he moved to Barefoot Bay Florida in 1985. He served in the Army during World War II, where he was stationed in Italy. He was a retired employee of Arlington Fire District Poughkeepsie New York as a Fire Fighter and he also worked part time at Adams Fairacres Farms. Mr. Sigler was a member of Poughkeepsie Elks #275, Life time member of the Rochdale Fire Department. Member of Local 2393, Arlington Professional Firefighters Union. Bill loved to oil paint and play cards. He is survived by Daughter and Son In-law, Jan and Gerald Terpening of Poughkeepsie, NY daughter Carol Ghee of Poughkeepsie, NY, Son and his companion Brian Sigler and Karen Page of LaGrange NY, and two sons: Thomas Sigler of Boynton Beach, FLA, Adam Sigler of Fremont, CA. He was the brother of one sister Alma Wright of Poughkeepsie, NY. Bill was also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah Terpening, Tiffany, Taylor, Trevor and Madison and Devin Sigler.Great grandson, Dylan Longi and several Nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 in the Funeral Home.
