Obituary of Rose Soricelli

Rose M. Soricelli, age 85, of the City of Poughkeepsie died Monday, June 28, 2010 at home in Poughkeepsie. Rose was born May 28, 1925 in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is the daughter of the late Gennaro and the late Mary Filoia Soricelli. She was employed by City Of Poughkeepsie as a Clerk in the Assessors Office; she was a sales associate at Mack Drug and also worked as a key punch operator for All State Insurance. Rose was a local resident all her life. During Elections, she worked at the polling stations for Dutchess County Board of Elections. She is survived by; nieces Amber Soricelli of Poughkeepsie NY and Marie Ratchford of Ulster Co. NY. Her nephews and their spouses, Albert and Christine Soricelli of Poughkeepsie, Anthony Soricelli of Poughkeepsie, Joey Soricelli of Poughkeepsie, James and Janie Soricelli of Poughkeepsie, Jerry Higgins of Poughkeepsie, Robert and Lorraine Higgins of Unionvale NY, Robert Soricelli of Poughkeepsie and Gary and Barbara Higgins of Poughkeepsie. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by six brothers; Frankie, Nicholas, Alfonso, Gennaro, Albert and Lucio Soricelli and a sister Susie Higgins. Calling hours will be Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 am on Friday, July 2, 2010 at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery Poughkeepsie NY. The family has requested that memorial donations be made in Rose’s Name to Hospice 374 Violet Ave. Poughkeepsie New York 12601.
