Obituary of Sarah Stamper

Sarah E. Stamper, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009 in Gardiner. She was the beloved daughter of David and Hilary Stamper. Born on Feb. 23, 1968 in Poughkeepsie, she graduated from Spackenkill High School in 1986. She went on to graduate from Gordon College, Wenham, MA with a BA in Political Science. After her premed at Harvard she graduated with a Doctorate of Medicine at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. Her residency in Internal Medicine was completed in 2007 at Greenwich Hospital, affiliated with Yale School of Medicine. She practiced medicine in New Hampshire and then with the Indian Health Service in Montana. She had many interests including traveling throughout the United States and Europe. She loved the out-of-doors, especially hiking, camping, swimming and gardening as well as gourmet cooking. She will be deeply missed by her parents, her three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Nicholas Stamper, Andrew and Lily Stamper, Harlan and Gillian Stamper; her nephews, Cameron, Christopher and Johnathan; her niece, Olivia, and her husband, Robert Corolaita. A graveside service, led by Rev. Betty McKinney, was held on May 1, at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
