Obituary of Joan Stec

Joan D. Stec, 77, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, lived in the Kingston and Poughkeepsie area all of her life, died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She worked for the City of Poughkeepsie School District until her retirement on June 30, 1986. She liked to play cards, bingo and do crossword puzzles. Born April 2, 1931, in Kingston, NY. She was a graduate of Kingston City Schools. On December 26, 1948, at the Immaculate Conception Church, in Kingston, she married Stephen Stec, who predeceased her on December 19, 1991. Survivors include son, William Stec of FL; grandson, William Stec Jr. of VA; granddaughters, Amanda Stec and Kristen Stec of FL; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2008 from 4pm to 7pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. Funeral service will be held on December 1, 2008 at 12:30pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Evergreen Ave., Poughkeepsie., NY.
