Obituary of James Stewart

James M. Stewart, 57, a local resident since 1986 of Hopewell Junction, previously of Highland Falls, NY, died October 1, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was a Bookkeeper for Mr. Rootor Plumbing, Pleasant Valley, NY. He was a previous Board Member of Taconic Resources for Independence, a member of St. Martin DePorres Church, loved to work on computers, gardening, animals and loved to go out and eat. He loved his two cats, Jaz and Max and his dog Princess. Born September 20, 1952, in Highland Falls, NY, he was the son of Melbourne and Bertha Roper Stewart. He was a Graduate of Orange County Community College and also a Marist College Graduate. On May 27, 1995, at St. Martin DePorres Church, Poughkeepsie, he married Doreen F. Mueller. He is survived by his wife at home. Survivors include, sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Robert St. John of Hyde Park, NY; nieces, Christine Pemberton, Michelle St. John, and Mae Mueller; nephews, Steve St. John, Julian, Quinn and Charlie Mueller; great nephew, Roman Pemberton. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 from 5pm to 9pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 10:00am at St. Martin DePorres Church. Burial will be at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
