Obituary of Gay Walker

Gay B. Walker, 68, a 25 year local resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, formerly of, Newburgh, NY, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009. She was a Patient Care for Wassaic Development Center, went to Newburgh Free Academy and a member of First Congregational Church of Christ, Poughkeepsie, NY. She liked to bowl and sing in the Church Choir. Born March 5, 1940, in Newburgh, NY, she was the Daughter of Benjamin and Louvina Jenkins Walker. Survivors include sister, Theatrice Baker of Highland; brother and sisterin-law, Eugene and Daisey Walker of Kansas, MO; sister and brother -inlaw, Lilline and Benjamin Powell of TX; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Felicia Walker of Hopewell Jct., NY; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Leatrice Fryar and Anna May Wheeler. There are no calling hours. A Memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on February 12, 2009 at First Congregation Church of Christ, Poughkeepsie, NY.
