Obituary of Charles M. Young

Charles " Charlie " M. Young, 78, of Poughkeepsie, died Friday April 29, 2011 at home. Born in Patterson New Jersey on February 16, 1933 he was the son of Fred and Mary Farrell Young. Charlie was a graduate of Eastside High School in Patterson New Jersey and also of Indiana University. On September 15, 1956 in Bloomington Indiana her married Anita Morganstern. Charlie was a Assistant Vice President for Dutchess Bank and Fishkill Nation Bank. He was a 49 year local resident previously of Great Neck Long Island. He served in the United States Army and later continued to serve with the Army reserves making the rank of Captain. Charlie was a member od the Wappingers Rotary, Wappingers Chamber and a Past Board Member of Sloper Willen Ambulance. He was a avid sports fan who loved the Gaints and the Mets, he played football for Indiana University and during his time at Eastside High he was the MVP of the High School Football team. Charlie is survived by his wife Anita at Home, daughter and son in-law Janet and Shane Blaise of West Palm Beach Fl., daughter and son in-law Randi and Peter Young Filip of Martinez, Ga., grandchildren Scott and Lisa Intondi, Christopher and Julia Filip. He is also survived by his great grandson Nathan, two brothers John Young of NJ, Robert Young of NJ and was predeceased by a brother Fred Young Jr. The family would like to thank Lenore for the care she gave to Charlie and for making his last days comfortable. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 5pm to 7pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie New York 12603. Burial will be private. Memorial Donations may be made in Charlie's name to the ASPCA Route 9G Hyde Park New York.
