Obituary of Dominick Milano

Dominick V. Milano passed away peacefully at the River Valley Nursing Home on March 17, 2012. The son of Lizzie Amedeo and Dominic Milano, he was born in Highland, NY on May 8, 1923. He married on March 19, 1949 in St. Peter's Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is survived by his loving wife Teresa, daughter Donna and son-in-law James Baxter. He leaves numerous family members including nieces, nephews and in-laws with fond memories of his stories about his travels around the world. He was predeceased by brothers Leonard, Michael, Frank and John Milano and sister Nettie Conforti. Dom attended Highland schools where he was very active in sports. He left high school to join the Navy and became a veteran of World War II and the Korean War as well as the US Naval Reserves. He joined his father as a bricklayer and worked on many local buildings. He became a Volunteer Fireman at Lady Washington and is a Life Member of the Exempt Fireman's Association, the American Legion and VFW. He was cremated according to his wishes. Private Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
