Obituary of Florence Marie Vespa Scully

Florence Marie Vespa Scully 75 of Raleigh NC died May 11, 2012 at Universal Health Care in Raleigh. Born in Newark NJ December 3, 1936 to John & Rose Gizzi Vespa. Flo was a Graduate of Arlington HS in 1954. Flo was married to Lawrence James Scully on April 12, 1958, Larry predeceased her in May 1987. She lived in North Carolina for the last 13 years and was previously from Poughkeepsie New York. Flo work for the IBM Credit Union in Poughkeepsie for many years before her retirment. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, a Club Leader in the NYS 4H and she bowled in the Women's International Bowling Congress in Poughkeepsie and the K of C Ladies bowling team in the 70's. Flo is survived by her three children; Christopher Scully of Hudson New York, Dana Wimple and her husband Mark of Raleigh NC, Kara McGinley and her husband Kevin of Raleigh NC, grandchildren Christopher, Brendan and Sean Scully of Poughkeepsie, Alicia Simonetti of Monmouth NJ, Peter Veach of Sarasota Florida, Lauren Wimple of Chapel Hill NC, Zachary and Elizabeth Hardy and Riley McGinley of Raleigh NC. Flo is also survived by her brother and sister in-law Charles and Ada Vespa of Palm Coast Florida and her two nieces Debra and her husband Bob Roman of Elmhurst Il and Janice Vespa of Palm Coast Florida. Flo was predeceased by her daughter Beth Simonetti. Calling hours will be May 17, 2012 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie New York 12603. Funeral services will be Friday May 18, 2012 at 10am in the Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery Saltpoint Turnpike.
