Obituary of Susan Ho

Susan Ho, age 63, of Poughkeepsie, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2012. A longtime resident of Poughkeepsie, Susan's career included work as a legal secretary for Guernsey, Butts, and Walsh for seven years. She also worked at John Jay High School in East Fishkill, the Conrad H. Hilton Library of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, and in a number substitute teaching roles in Dutchess County. Susan was born on October 25, 1948 in Hoi Ping, China to Bill Fong and the late Gong-Yip Seeto. She spent her childhood in Brooklyn, New York, where she received her bachelor's degree in Education from Brooklyn College. She married her devoted husband, Cecil, on September 10, 1972. Friends and family loved Susan for her sweet and gentle nature, her generosity, kind spirit, ambition, and ability to get along with everyone. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed volunteering at her church, the Manor at Woodside, Grinnell Library, LaGrange Library, and with the Friends of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District. Other hobbies included ballroom dancing, music, languages, learning and teaching computer skills, crocheting, and making sponge cake. Susan is survived by her beloved husband Cecil Ho, of Poughkeepsie; loving daughters Jennifer Ho, of Poughkeepsie and Stephanie and her husband PJ Manzo, of Glenville, New York; her father Bill Fong, of Brooklyn; her sister Florence Fong-Lopez and her husband Mel Lopez and niece Nicole, of Manhattan; her brother Peter and his wife Anna Fong, niece Samantha, and nephew Michael, of Hicksville, Long Island. Memorial services and calling will be held on Tuesday, August 21, at the Timothy Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie at 10:00 am.
