James L. Joseph, Jr., age 89, of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. James was born March 12, 1923 in Ossining, NY. He is the son of the late James L and the late Edith (Ludwig) Joseph Sr. He married Sara "Sally "Jane Ehlers on June 12, 1948 at Washington DC. James was a local resident for the last 16 years previously of Hasting on Hudson. James loved to read and his family meant the most to him. He served as a Lieutenant in the Navy during WWII . He retired from Bankers Trust as a Systems Analyst in 1998. James also worked at Readers Digest and Citi Corp. He was a member of the Poughkeepsie United Methodists Church. He is survived by his wife: Sara " Sally "Jane Joseph ; Son and Daughter In-law, Thomas W. and Juliet Joseph of East Fishkill, NY; Son and Daughter In-law, Christopher J. and Maureen Joseph of Falls Church, VA; grandchildren; Wesley Joseph and his wife Brittany, Kathleen Joseph, Nicholas Joseph, Eileen Joseph and Claire Joseph. James is also survived by a sister Edith J. Burns; several nieces and nephews and was predeceased by a brother Warren A. Joseph. A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church, New Hackensack Road, Poughkeepsie, NY with The Reverend Robert Thompson-Ghee officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
