Obituary of Wayne Witter

Poughkeepsie- Wayne Lee Witter, 66, passed away Tuesday November 12, 2012. Born in Carlisle, PA on October 10, 1946 to the late Wayne Witter and Mary Clouser. Wayne was a member of the Poughkeepsie Jc's, the Knights of Columbus, served on the Board of Review for the Eagle Scouts, was an Assistant Scout Master and President of the Spring Lake Fire Department. He also was an avid stamp collector and hunter. Wayne also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On September 28, 1968 Wayne married Dianne Vanaskie in Mechanicsburg, PA. Wayne worked as a Field Engineer for IBM Poughkeepsie until retiring in 1996. Wayne is survived by his wife, Dianne Witter of Poughkeepsie, three sons; Kenneth Witter of Poughkeepsie, Stephen Witter and wife Maria of Fishkill, Gerald Witter and wife Diana of Poughkeepsie, Mother, Mary Witter of Pennsylvania, two brothers; William and Jack Witter of Pennsylvania, and five grandchildren, Zachary, Stephen, Zoey, Mary Rose, and Zinan. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Calling hours will be held November 15, 2012 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A mass of Christian burial will take place November 16, 2012 at 10am at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Parish, 299 Hudson View Drive Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Father James A. Garisto will be officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Parish.
