Obituary of Richard Owen Drake

Richard Owen Drake, age 82, of Lagrange, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Richard was born July 1, 1930 in Hempstead, LI. He is the son of the late Harcourt and the late Helen (Munson) Drake. He married Anita L. Picciano on April 27, 1985 at Unitarian Church Poughkeepsie. He served in the Army Air Corps during the the Korean war. He was employed by IBM Poughkeepsie as a Software Manager. After retiring from IBM Richard went to work at the Poughkeepsie Journal as a Photographer. Richard loved Photgraphy. He even had several photgraphy shows in the area of his photos. He is survived by his wife: Anita L.(Picciano) Drake of Lagrange, daughter: Susan Drake of Woodstock, NY; Son and Daughter In-law, Gregory And Annette Drake of Shokan, NY; Grandson, Russell Drake of Hamberg Germany; sister Barbara Rakovec of Roanoke, VA and Brother and Sister In-law, Hubert And Eleanor Drake of Aptos, CA. The family will receive friends and family from 10am to 11am with a memorial service to follow at 11am Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St Margaret's Church,, Staatsburg, NY. Burial will be in the Fishkill Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Margaret's Church Staatsburg NY Old Post Road and East Elm Ave. Staatsburg, NY Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Timothy P.
