Obituary of Charles Whiteley

Charles F. Whiteley, age 86, of Lagrange, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Charles was born August 12, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late Nicholas and the late Emiley (Kirchner) Whiteley. He married Joan H. Valent on June 29, 1952 at Holy Trinity Church Poughkeepsie, New York. Charles served in the Navy during the Korean war. He retired from Central Hudson G&E Poughkeepsie as a Foreman in 1988. Charles was a member of K of C Council #304. He loved to golf, bowl and do yard and lawn care. He is survived by his wife: Joan H.(Valent) Whiteley of Lagrange, NY; daughter and son In-law, Debbi and Larry Scardaci of Hyde Park, NY; son and daughter In-law, Thomas and Nancy Whiteley of Indianapolis, MD; son and daughter In-law, Patrick and Laurie Whiteley of Pleasant Valley, NY; son and daughter In-law, James and Karen Whiteley of New Egypt, NJ; son and daughter In-law, Timothy and Susan Whiteley of Hyde Park, NY; eleven grandchildren, Mike and Chris Scardaci, Charlie, Samantha, Nicole, Daniel, Brian, Jay, Maxine, Zachary, Josie Whiteley; three great grandchildren Jake, Gracie Sinclair, Madyn Scardaci and brother William Whiteley of Wappingers Falls, NY. Charles was predeceased by two brothers Eugene and Michael Whiteley and a sister Clare DuPilka.. Calling hours will be Friday, December 6, 2013 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Poughkeepsie New York..
