Obituary of William A. Cummings

William A. Cummings of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.  Born on September 20, 1935 in Millbrook, NY, he was the son of the late John and Edith (Edmonds) Cummings.  On November 19, 1960 he married Carolyn Johnson Cummings in Poughkeepsie, NY and she survives him at home.  William was a member of  the retirees of Western Printing where he was employed for 37 years.  In addition to his loving and devoted wife, William is survived by his daughter Helen Cummings Bradley , Michael Heuer, granddaughters; Ailiya Poskitt and Tomas Poskitt, Latisha Bradley, Iasian Bradley Braxton and Derrick and Destinee Vittone and his 8 great-grandchildren; Miguel Poskitt, Isaiah Bradley, Xavier Bradley, Dominic Poskitt, Serenity Hoose, Avalynn Poskitt, Jaiden Hoose and Desean Braxton.  In addition, he is survived by his sisters; Viola Cummings, Irene Shultz, Eddie Shultz, Katherine Cummings,, his brother John (Sandra) Cummings, as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  William was predeceased by his sisters Teresa Hancock and Mary Johnson and his brothers Charles, Dick, Richard, and Robert Cummings , Oscar Edmonds and Arthur Edmonds and his great-granddaughter  Ayiesha Poskitt.   Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 12:00 - 1:00pm at the Timothy P.
