Obituary of Evelyn A. Trojan

Evelyn A. Trojan, 95, of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at The Pines in Poughkeepsie, NY. with her children by her side. She was born on July 16, 1926 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Louis and Louise Accapezzato Ricci. Evelyn married Edward M. Trojan on October 29, 1944 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He predeceased her on July 16, 1994.

A local resident all her life, Evelyn was educated at Poughkeepsie Schools. Her employment included Retail at Lucky Platt’s, Wallace’s, the Town Shop and was a longtime Hostess at Alex's Restaurant in Poughkeepsie, NY. Evelyn was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, a club member with the Ladies Auxiliary at the Italian Center. She loved to shop.

Survivors include her sons Edward L. (Maureen) Trojan of Poughkeepsie, NY, Louis (Julia) Trojan of Pleasant Valley, NY, daughters Louise (Richard) Lombardi of Poughkeepsie, NY, Debra (James) Hershberger of Georgetown, KY, grandchildren Staci Mackin, Roni Zilinski, Kyle Hershberger, Colin Hershberger, great grandchildren Madison Mackin, Lance Mackin, Cole Mackin, Robert Zilinski, sister Frances Silvestri of Lexington, KY. and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 95 Mill St. Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial is to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, NY.
