Joseph Fusco Jr.

Obituary of Joseph C. Fusco Jr.

Joe Fusco died Thursday morning Sept 2. Even though he has a history of heart disease,  it was a surprise to us all.

Like my mother , he made an lasting impact on those around them, even if it was for a brief moment. His words were  tremendously heartfelt , sometimes loud , or even inappropriately wrong…but seemed right.

From the age 16, he would  always be Dressed up, dabbled with cologne, jeweled ready for anything after work. Regularly with a new car or bike and better yet a “story”.  He was a talker, never stopped moving either. You would hear him sing oldies like he owned the song walking down the street. Dancing at the beat, and later in life reminiscing of his “Bronx” tales.

Joe Fusco was the truest form of a gentleman , always going out of his way to help a lady. I can guarantee he opened a door for you at one point. Full of compliments, he would light a smile on your face instantly.

He was a dedicated friend with all his heart. He may have lost touch at points, many points…  but I’m sure when it resumed , you knew he was always there.

As a grandfather, father and husband , he was the “most” devoted. He was Unbreakable, strong willed and instinctually caring. He was a little kid again with grandkids, they kept him going strong. From the age of 12, he was a caretaker. All the while  subduing his lively spirit and  vivid dreams to ensure his family was secure. But he dreamt, daily.  He gave his family the freedom  to live our lives to our fullest .  He worked hard , real hard , despite many struggles and life obstacles. Most  people would  crumble 50 years ago. If you ever looked at his hands, it showed it.

Ironically In the end , he died enjoying life to peaks reminiscent of when he first met my mother.  He had a radiant smile and new found  energy and freedom that some may have recently witnessed.

In the end , his heart had nothing left to give , and took him away. I think we all can agree it was the largest one around.

Remember him, he wanted to be remembered, for better or worse.

Rest In Peace dad.

He leaves behind son Joe, daughter Jenene, and grandchildren Tyce and Jia to live on and remember his vivacious spirit. He will be missed.
