Donna Pike

Obituary of Donna Pike

Donna Pike 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 7, 2022 at The Pines in Catskill, NY with family by her side. Donna was born April 3, 1946 to parents Evelyn and George Williamson in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Donna was predeceased by her parents, her Brother Dale, sister in law Rose and their daughter Tammy. She is survived by her husband Charles at home, sons Dean (Robin), Glenn (Fleda) of North Carolina and daughter Jennifer (Nick) Demarest and sister, Bonnie (Slo’w) Gutierrez of California. She is also survived by granddaughters Amanda, Katherine, Grace and Annabelle, in addition to many other relatives and friends who adored her.

Donna graduated from Arlington High School and it was during that time that she met Charles Pike who became the love of her life and husband on September 11, 1965. Donna and Charlie recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. Theirs was a true love story full of ups and downs with lots of humor, adventure and respect for one another.

Donna was not only a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, but she was an incredibly talented artist. She was a master of just about anything she tried including calligraphy, quilting, needlework, sewing, painting, jewelry making etc., etc., but she was an absolutely brilliant stained glass artisan. The pieces she created were sheer perfection and rivaled the best! She shared her talent by teaching many students her craft in her home studio. She truly was a Jack of all trades and master of ALL. Her friends and family will have many beautiful treasures to remind them of her light and love.

Another one of her passions was cooking and baking delicious creations, a love she passed on to her daughter the Culinary Institute chef! She was always cooking up something special for every occasion or event or making something with her homegrown produce from her huge garden. Donna had the greenest thumb in Greene County with gardens galore all around her home.  She loved her flowers and her yard was breathtaking, resembling the New York Botanical Gardens in the spring and summer, but her favorites were the peonies and she had them in every color. She was very proud of her flowers and posted her many beautiful photos on Facebook for all to enjoy.

Donna adored her children, but lived for her four granddaughters. She loved being a grandmother and couldn’t wait to visit them or have them come stay with her. Donna and Charlie loved to travel and managed to visit all 50 states during their time together in addition to several other countries. They loved visiting museums and taking in the local attractions of the places they visited. Luckily Donna fit a lot of living in the years she had with us and she’s left behind a plethora of beautiful photos and memories with the people who loved her.  She was a kind, loving and beautiful soul and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.
