Obituary of Dana A. Argiropoulos

Dana A. Argiropoulos, age 65, of Poughkeepsie, New York, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Born in Poughkeepsie, New York on December 31, 1956, Dana was the daughter of the late George Papastrat and the late Joanna Papastrat (Antonakos). Dana graduated from Dowling College earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She worked for a number of years at IBM’s Fishkill Production Control Center and then for 15 years as a Staffing Specialist at Manpower. Dana was a longtime member of the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church with very strong ties to the community.

Among the many things she enjoyed in life, Dana loved listening to music, dancing, watching tennis tournaments, and spending time with family and friends. In addition, Dana was a passionate supporter of autism research and awareness and also had a special love for animals.

Dana is survived by her two sons Jon Argiropoulos and his wife Kwan Man Cheng of Poughkeepsie, New York, Christopher Argiropoulos of Amenia, New York, her grandson Theo Argiropoulos of Poughkeepsie, New York, her brother Jon Papastrat and his wife Ann Papastrat of Atlanta, Georgia, her nephew Dean Papastrat of Seattle, Washington, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she loved.

Arrangements and services will be held at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 11am to 2pm at 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Dana’s name to the Dutchess County SPCA (dcspca.org), Hudson Valley Autism Society (hudsonvalley-autismsociety.org), or the Muscular Dystrophy Association (mda.org).
