Obituary of Bernice MacIsaac

Bernice MacIsaac, 89, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on June 13, 2023. She was born on April 18, 1934, in Poughkeepsie, New York to the late Peter and the late Catherine (Nilan) Germiller.

Bernice was a local resident all of her life. She was a graduate of Arlington High School and was a Den mother at Holy Trinity for the Cub Scout troop.

She was an Office Asst. for Dr. Russo and Ferrando in Poughkeepsie and also worked in the cafeteria at Arlington High School Poughkeepsie.

She was the wife of Edward J. MacIsaac Sr., they were married on October 25, 1953, at Holy Trinity Church. Ed predeceased her on June 5, 2016.

Bernice loved to go out to lunch with many of the graduates of Arlington High School. She was a diehard Red Sox fan, she loved to sew and cake decorating. The most important thing in her life was her family, she loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children and their spouses Edward J. and Barbara MacIsaac of Poughkeepsie, Neil F. and Marlene MacIsaac of Poughkeepsie, Matthew P. and Cheryl MacIsaac of Hyde Park, Catherine E. and Gregory Gallagher of Poughkeepsie, her grandchildren Corey Sheedy(James), Meighan Lambert (Chris), Dr. Sean P. MacIsaac, Neil MacIsaac (Jackie), Danette Burnett (Sebastian), her great-grandchildren Maverick, Emilia, Sienna, Elliette, Camden, Desmond, Sebastian, Madelyn and her sister Barbara Gurbel.

Bernice was predeceased by her son Kevin M. MacIsaac in 2016, her brother James Germiller and two sisters Kathleen Jansen and Dorothea Whiting.

Calling Hours will be held on Monday, June 19^th, 2023, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Tuesday, June 20^th, 2023, at Holy Trinity Church 775 Main Street Poughkeepsie, New York. Interment will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY
