Obituary of Richard P. Flinn

Richard P. Flinn 54 of Poughkeepsie passed away on March 17, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Richard was born in Poughkeepsie; he was the son of Richard T. and Julia Shepherd-Flinn.
Richard attended Roosevelt High School and Dutchess Community College.
On March 2, 2000 in Jamica, Richard married Kira Kotowski who survives him.
He was a lifelong local resident and in August 2003 became a member of the Pirate Canoe
Club.
Richard loved to hunt, fish, his race cars, working for Universal Forest Products and spending
time with family and friends.
Richard is survived by his parents in North Carolina, his sister, Paula C Herber, and her fiancé,
Brian Cardinal, of White Plains, NY., his nephews Austin and Reid Herber, several aunts and
uncles; Barbara and Wayne DeLong, Thomas McCoy, Timothy and Annette McCoy, Mary Veltre,
Catherine and Brad Phillips, Bernadette and Tracy Pikul, Patrick McCoy, Michael McCoy, Bernie
and Debbie McCoy, Grand Uncle Darwin Flinn and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday March 21, 2024 from 5pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle
Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Friday March 22, 2024 at Holy Trinity Church
Poughkeepsie, NY., 12603. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery Poughkeepsie.
A celebration of life will be held following the burial from 3pm – 9pm at the Pirates Canoe Club
